Mark Campling

Mark started his musical career learning classical piano from his Grandmother and then other inspirational teachers. At sixteen, the rebellious part of him led him to pick up a guitar, which he has since never been able to put down!

In his late teens, Mark put together his first rock band that would become known as “Faith”, and is still performing and recording today. In the midst he has played in bands covering various genres from rock, 80s, ska, pop, funk, rock and roll and acoustic duos plus a tour of the Ukraine with the international band “Death Valley Screamers” and more latterly writing and performing with charting 80’s band “X-Projection”!

He has read in the orchestra pit for many musicals plus produced and arranged the music for one and gained an ATCL Diploma in classical guitar whilst receiving lessons from Carlos Bonell (a student of the great John Williams!).

Other than performing he spends most of his time writing, recording and producing music for commercial releases having recently secured a publishing deal.

He astounds audiences with his musical and dexterous playing, including the note-for-note solo in “Get the Funk Out” (that Brian May of Queen admits he will not attempt), the occasional slide-guitar solo utilising a pint glass, as well as his trademark “guitar-behind-the-head” solo!
